We invite you to experience a new relationship with your physician and truly personalized healthcare in New Jersey's premiere integrative medicine practice serving patients from childhood through adulthood.
At Evolved Medicine, we focus on the principal that each and every person is an individual with unique needs. No two people are alike and healthcare should be delivered with that very notion in mind. The tenants of Functional Medicine speak to this exact concept. It is in this patient –centered framework that we, at Evolved Medicine, are committed to addressing our patient’s healthcare needs. Carefully examining each patient’s unique history, combining that knowledge with the genetic, lifestyle and environmental factors that can influence long term health and treating root causes of disease rather than merely suppressing symptoms is the cornerstone of our approach
What is Adolescent and Young Adult Medicine?
Not many people are aware that there are physicians that specialize in treating teens and young adults! Adolescent and Young Adult Medicine is a board certified subspecialty. Physicians who practice this subspecialty complete a three year residency in Pediatrics. Upon completion of this residency, an additional three years of training is undertaken to manage the unique medical, physical, biologic, psychologic and social changes and challenges that occur during the adolescent and young adult stage of life. This unique qualification allows these physicians to care for patients as they transition from childhood to the tween years, teenage years and eventually into adulthood.
What is Functional Medicine?
Functional Medicine is a science based approach to health that focuses on identifying and addressing the root cause of disease rather than just treating the symptoms. One condition or diagnosis may have many causes and one cause may actually produce many conditions. The beauty of the functional medicine approach is that it allows the physician and patient to work together to find the underlying cause unique to each person in a truly personalized approach. Whether the diagnosis is anxiety, ADHD, acne, eczema, autoimmune disease, irritable bowel syndrome, migraine... it is important to look beneath that name and see what got you to the point at which you were given your diagnosis. Naming the issue is just the beginning! Getting to "the why" is where the magic happens. It is only then that we can achieve long term sustainable health without perpetually suppressing symptoms
Patients can expect integrative, innovative and individualized care that aims to determine underlying causes rather than merely treating symptoms. This patient centered, proactive, rather than reactive approach supports the unique expression of health for each individual and is the goal of each and every encounter.
